Switch to solar power for domestic use

Power shortage has become a big problem in Navi Mumbai. Residents are relying on generator and inverter for electricity. But there can be other methods to solve this problem. Windmill can solve the power problem partially. Though, the best remedy is to switch to solar power for domestic usage. During winter season people prefer staying inside their houses instead of experiencing the cold outside. Requirement of hot water is at its peak and is needed for almost all daily chores like bathing, washing cloth and utensils. Instead of wasting gas or electricity, solar-water-heater usage can save the energy. Solar water heater is a device that heats water up to 80 degree centigrade.
The appliance is made up of a flat plate collector, a water tank, pipes and fittings. Solar water heater can be used for commercial as well as domestic purposes. One can harvest abundant solar energy through solar-water-heating system and that will also reduce electricity and gas bills.
A solar water heating system gives 2000 liters of water per day and costs about Rs3 lakhs. Banks finance up to 80% of the unit cost. It is ideal for high rise building like Millennium Towers at Sanpada. Loan is only be given to Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources (MNES) approved supplier.
For household purpose one can buy 300 liters per day capacity system that cost about Rs50000.
