MHADA gets cracking, restarts e-tendering

On Wednesday, the day DNA’s investigation series on Dharavi ended, the Mumbai Housing and Area Development Board (an unit of MHADA) issued a notice saying the suspended e-tendering process has been revived and the revised programme of e-tendering, the pre-bid conference date, and the bid documents will be available from May 25 on its official website. Taking note of the DNA reports on Dharavi, Prithviraj Chavan, chief minister, has sought a status report on the project. In May 2011, Chavan had announced that the MHADA would redevelop sector 5 in Dharavi. But till October, said a CAG report, no work had begun and the agency had only submitted a proposal.
