Hosp wants stolen baby’s mom to leave But management says they only want her to move to a private room

Hosp wants stolen baby’s mom to leave
But management says they only want her to move to a private room

The family of the newborn who was kidnapped from Wadia Hospital has alleged that in the past few weeks, the hospital management has indirectly asked them to seek discharge of the baby’s mother Jasmine Naik several times.
In a meeting with hospital authorities on Monday, a video recording of which is with DNA, Jasmine’s 65-year-old father Ganesh Mahapankar brought to the notice of hospital management member Chandra Iyengar that doctors and nurses had been constantly badgering them to seek discharge of the patient. To this, Iyengar retorted, “Only tell us whether you would shift Jasmine to a private room.”
However, a source close to the management said they perceive the grieving family as ‘troublemakers’ who disturb the peace of other patients.
The day-old baby boy was kidnapped by an orange sari-clad woman on October 24 from the hospital. “I expected them to be sympathetic but they want to get rid of Jasmine instead. They haven’t even issued a written apology or expressed remorse for our loss,” Mahapankar said.
A member of the hospital management board said, “We have done more than our due by letting the mother stay for as long as she wanted, but it is high time she get discharged.”
When questioned about their stern approach, Iyengar refused to comment.
