Along with Ganesh Chaturthi, Ganesh Jayanti or popularly known as 'Maghi Ganpati', is also celebrated across Maharashtra. This festival comes in the Magh month of Hindu-Marathi calendar. This day is considered as the rebirth of Lord Ganesh.
Several Ganesh temples perform special aartis on this day.
There is a festive atmosphere during evenings as several social, cultural and entertainment programmes are organised.
