MISRIS ORGANISED MUMBAI SPEED SKATING CUP 2012 IN KANDIVALI.

    With an aim to give young skaters a platform to compete at state level, Manpreet's International School of Roller and Ice Skating (MISRIS) hosted the Mumbai Speed Skating Cup 2012 at the Thakur Shyamnarayan grounds in Thakur Village, in the first week of November. "I always wanted to host this event. But many factors including poor infrastructure for skating and lack of funds delayed the holding of such an event. This year, however, with the help of Development Credit Bank, Lokhandwala and Inner Wheel Club, Kandivali and because of the support and co-operation of the management of Thakur Shyamnarayan School, it was possible," says Coach Manpreet who holds National Champion title for three times in roller skating and has even participated in the World Championship.
    Around 200 children from as far as Panvel and Kharghar participated in this event, and also got a chance to test the newly repaired rink at Thakur Shyamnarayan grounds. The event also boasts of many first - it was the first time that MISRIS was organising an event of this nature and scale, an evening race was held for the first time and the competition was open to skaters across the city and not restricted to specific zones. An overall champion trophy in each category was also awarded for the first time in addition to medals and certificates to the winner. MISRIS also gave away participation certificates and medals to all the children.
    "We don't have as many races as we should have. It is great that my son got an opportunity to compete against so many other kids from the city. He has performed well and is now highly motivated to do better," said Mrs Chawla who was accompanying her son Iryaveer, who won 3 gold medals and an overall Champion trophy.
    Several races were keenly contested in a clear sign that there is a lot of talent and a competitive spirit. According to the coach Valice Miranda who was the chief referee, "since skating is likely to get included in the 2016 Olympics, it is events like these that will help a coach to spot talented skaters and train them to compete at international levels." He also felt that unlike earlier days when Indian skaters did not have an access to high quality skating equipments, the situation is far better now where the coaches are sourcing the best equipment and along with the good skating tracks and corporate sponsorships, this sport will certainly have a bright future.
    The unique part of this event was the volunteer groups formed by the students of MISRIS and their parents. The volunteer groups managed all the ground work such as handling registrations, enquiries, hospitality, ground management, first aid and also assisting the younger skaters. "The arrangements of this event were really good. Normally, we have to stand all through the race under the sun and it gets very tiring for us. But here, we had sheltered enclosures, washrooms as well as seating arrangements. The hosts took care of everything and most importantly, all the races started on time," said one of the parents. The three-day event proved that there are many talented young skaters in the city, and all they need is a platform to compete and hone their skills.
The winners of the Overall Champion trophy in the Inline Category are Hurley Gala, Shree Argekar, Iryaveer Chawla, Rishabh Goenka, Shamika Ail, Rishikesh Ramakrishnan, Vinay Pitale, Prathamesh Shetye, Rida Shinde, Shubham Parkar, Hardhik Pandiya, Pahal Shah, Deval Ghatge and Sudha Nayani. The late cartoonist’s works are currently on display at a suburban art gallery

    If you were a fan of Mario Miranda, this is one show you must visit. Titled Mario’s World, the exhibition is a collection of art works showcasing his travels in Europe as well as his most popular Pocket Cartoons, which appeared in several daily newspapers. Curated by Gerard da Cunha, it is on till the end of the month. “Mario’s World showcases an aspect of the late Mario Miranda’s works, which have seldom been seen — The Master Sketcher. These sketches are mainly from the late ’70s and the early ’80s and involve his work done in Europe. I consider it a Golden Phase in Mario’s development as a fine artist, where he worked mainly with colours without deadlines and experimented in different styles and very original compositions. On sale at the exhibition are all his recent books, around 10 of them. There is also a lot of merchandise, including handpainted tiles, prints, mugs and many other products,” says Shabana Chawla, curator of the gallery where the works are currently on display.
    It was on a trip to Goa earlier this year when Shabana visited the Mario Gallery and decided to have a show displaying the late artist’s works in Mumbai. “My idea was to show a side of Mario, which Mumbai had not seen previously. So far, the response has been good and as word spreads, the number of visitors have been steadily increasing. The Miranda family has also given a few originals for the exhibition. Besides the Pocket Cartoons, there are also on sale rare pictures from Mario’s Travels,” ends Shabana.
    Mario’s World can be seen at the Aks Art Gallery, Adarsh Nagar, Opp. Samarth Aishwarya, Oshiwara, Andheri (W) till November 28.

Many states out of banking net, north-east leads

The government is counting on a plan to pay subsidies directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries, but its well laid plans may go awry as data has revealed that several parts of the India, especially the north-east, have little access to banks.
Latest finance ministry data showed that in most northeastern states including Manipur, Meghalaya and Nagaland, less than 40% of households avail banking facilities.
The sole silver l i ning is Tripura, where 70% total households use banking facilities — a proportion shared, interestingly, by the terror-hit state of Jammu and Kashmir.

More than 50% of the households in eastern states — West Bengal, Orissa and Bihar — too are outside the banking net.
“We would have to chalk out a strategy to ensure that states with low penetration are covered at the earliest,” said the chairman of a large public sector bank, who did not wish to be identified. “The issue was discussed by finance minister P Chidambaram in a recent meeting.”
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh launched a direct cash transfer system for subsidy beneficiaries under the Aadhaar scheme, aimed at reducing the role of middlemen in the disbursement of subsidies and ultimately controlling corruption.
The government is also looking at a proposal to make it mandatory for all LPG connection-holders to have bank accounts, so that they can claim the annual subsidy. “Banks would be required to expedite opening of branches to expand the network, and we would closely monitor the progress,” a senior finance ministry official said.

हिटलरचा इतिहास माहीत नसताना फक्त त्याने युद्धात केलेला संहार आणि ज्युंची केलेली कत्तल म्हणून त्याला शिव्या देणारे भरपूर जण आहेत. जर आपल प्रभुत्व गाजवायच असेल तर प्रथम त्या लायकीच व्हाव लागत आणि हिटलरने तेच केल.

मी हिटलरने महायुद्धात नेमक काय जिँकल होत तेच सांगतो-:

1) फ्रान्सकडुन व्हर्सायच्या तहान्वये गेलेला RHINELAND प्रांत सार प्रांत, AUSTRIYA हा 70 लाख लोकसंख्येचा प्रदेश, त्याचप्रमाणे झेकोस्लोव...्हाकिया, हंगेरी हे देश फक्त धमकीच्या जोरावर रक्ताचा एकही थेंब न गाळता त्याने युद्धाआधीच मिळवले.

2) पोलंडचा तीन आठवड्यात फडशा पाडुन पोलंड मिळवला.

5) ज्या ब्रिटीशांच्या संपुर्ण जगात वसाहती होत्या त्या ब्रिटीशांना एकट्या हिटलरने BLITZCREIG तंत्राचा वापर करुन पळता भुई थोडी केली. भुमध्य समुद्रातील क्रिट बेट मिळवत ब्रिटीशांना पाऊल ठेवायला जागा ठेवली नाही आणि रोमेलच्या साहाय्याने इजिप्तला पराभुत करुन
इंग्लंडला सगळ्या बाजुंनी कोँडले.

6) बाल्कन प्रदेशात हिटलरने युद्ध करुन ग्रीकांना पराभुत केले आणि युगोस्लोव्हाकियाचा घास गिळला.

7) मुत्सद्देगिरीच्या जोरावरच रुसो-जर्मन कराराची अभुतपुर्व घटना हिटलरने घडवुन आणली. पहिल्या महायुद्धात पश्चिम आघाडी उद्ध्वस्त करण्यासाठी जर्मनीला 4 वर्ष लागली होती पण हा चमत्कार हिटलरने केवळ सव्वा महिन्यात केला. इतरांचे राष्ट्रीय नेत्रुत्व दुबळे पडत असेल तर ती दुर्बलता अचुक हेरुन वाढवली हिटलरनेच...! त्याच्या या सर्व विजयाची तुलना केवळ फ्रेडरिक द ग्रेट किँवा नेपोलियन बोनापार्ट यांच्याशीच होऊ शकत होती.हिटलर 19 व्या शतकातील सर्वशक्तीमान व्यक्तिमत्व होते.

जर्मन राष्ट्रवादाला त्याने अशी फुंकर घातली की सारे जग स्तिमीत झाले. जर्मनीवर अखंड 12 वर्षे तर युरोपवर 4 वर्षे सत्ता प्रस्थापित केली. पहिल्या महायुद्धात झालेल्या अपमानाचा सुड घेतल्याचे समाधान त्याने जर्मनीला मिळवुन दिले. लक्षात ठेवा कोणतेही युद्ध भयानकच असते पण देशाची बेईज्जत त्यापेक्षा भयानक असते.

हिटलरच्या ज्या विकासाविषयी मी सांगतोय तो काय होता ते सांगतो-:
1) हिटलरने शिक्षणाव्यवस्थेत आमुलाग्र  बदल घडवत शारिरीक शिक्षण सक्तीचे केले.

2) शेतक-यांची हलाखीची परिस्थिती सुधारण्यासाठी शेतजमिनीची विक्री बेकायदेशीर ठरवल्याने शेतकरी आपल्या शेतावर बांधला गेला. राईश अन्नसाठा यंत्रणेत शेतक-यांना अन्नधान्याच्या पुरेशा कायदेशीर व निश्चित किँमती बांधुन दिल्याने जर्मनी अन्नधान्याच्या बाबतीत स्वयंपुर्ण झाला.

3) जे कारखानदार रोजगार वाढवुन बेकारी नष्ट करतील अशा कारखानदारांना करमाफी देण्यात आली. त्यामुळे कारखानदार व कामगार वर्ग हिटलरवर खुष होते.

4) जर्मनीने आर्थिक क्षेत्रात प्रगती केली ती शस्त्रोत्पादनां च्या धोरणामुळेच. या सर्व योजनेला युद्धकालीन अर्थकारण म्हणतात.

5) हिटलरने CHANCELLER होताच सर्व राजकीय व सामाजिक संघटनांना शरणागती पत्करण्यास सांगुन पुर्ण जर्मनीला "एक विधान एक निशाण एक प्रधान" मिळवुन दिले. जे कार्य करण्याचे धारिष्ट्य प्रिन्स बिस्मार्क व वायमर प्रजासत्ताकला झाले नाही ते कार्य रक्ताचा एक थेंब न सांडता हिटलरने प्रत्यक्षात उतरवले.

हिटलर राजवटीत 3 वर्षातच बेकारी नष्ट होऊन उद्योग आणि व्यापार यांची चक्रे प्रचंड गतीने फिरताना दिसु लागली. कोणत्याही अन्य राजवटीने 3 वर्षात एवढे यश मिळवले नसेल. हिटलरच्या या विकासाच महत्व अजुन वाढत कारण त्यावेळी जर्मनीतील परिस्थिती पुर्णतः प्रतिकुल होती.अशा परिस्थितीत हिटलर 30 जानेवारी 1933 ला जर्मनीचा CHANCELLER झाला आणि पुढील 5 वर्षात त्याने जर्मनीचा जो काही विकास केला त्यामुळे जर्मनीची गणती जगातील सर्वशक्तीमान राष्ट्रात होऊ लागली आणि 1 सप्टेँबर 1939 पर्यँत दुस-या महायुद्धास सामोरे जाऊन आपल्या अपमानाचा बदला घेण्याची ताकद या राष्ट्रात आली.


हिटलरने कोणत्या परिस्थितीत विकास साधला हे जाणुन घ्यायला अगोदर जर्मनीतील प्रतिकुल परिस्थिती जाणुन घेणे आवश्यक आहे.
1) पहिल्या महायुद्धातील पराभवानंतर 1$ ला 4 MARKS असलेली जर्मन चलनाची किंमत 1$ ला 10000 MARKS एवढी कमी झाली होती.

2) व्हर्सायच्या तहाने जर्मनीवर आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तरावरुन जाचक अटी लादण्यात आल्या होत्या. प्रत्येक गोष्टीत जर्मनीला बाकी राष्ट्रांकडुन प्रथम परवानगी घ्यावी लागत होती अशा परिस्थितीत अन्यायाने त्रस्त जर्मनीला सावरले ते हिटलरनेच...!!! या तहाच्या सर्व अटी झुगारुन देत चतुराईने त्याने इंग्लंडकडुन 35% आरमार उभारण्याचे स्वातंत्र्य मिळवले आणि थोड्याच काळात जर्मनीला एवढे बलशाली बनवले की. ज्या इंग्लंड सारख्या देशांनी जर्मनीवर अटी लादल्या होत्या तेच देश युद्धाच्या भितीने हिटलरच्या अटी मान्य करु लागले होते.

Tatas-owned Landmark will soon add a new chapter to its bookstore business. The retailer that sells books, music and toys plans to introduce books on rent to boost customer loyalty.
"Books on rent is an excellent concept and successful entrepreneurs are doing it already. There are enough examples in India of running a successful library out of a bookstore," said Ashutosh Pandey, chief operating officer, Landmark.
"Focusing on renting out books and on the children's section is a possibility for us. Our priority is to roll out more and more things around the leisure and entertainment business that we are trying to establish. In the process we'll introduce more formats," he said.
With rising rentals and waning consumer interest in direct purchases amid the rise of online bookstores, brick-and-mortar book shops are evolving, trying new tricks. These include providing space for peaceful readings, interactive gaming and music sales and sessions.
Landmark, which has 19 large format bookstores, is also revisiting its expansion strategy. Instead of expanding through companyowned stores, the book chain will now focus on establishing a franchisebased model.

"Until now our approach has been to open Landmark-owned stores," said.
"We'll open at least three company owned stores every year while the franchise route will help us accelerate retail store volumes," said Pandey.
The company is looking to open at least 25 new large format stores over the next three years.
Landmark is now focusing on expansion in Vizag, Coimbatore, Mangalore, Mysore, Thane, Nashik and Kanpur.
The franchisee-run stores will be trimmed in size with an average size of 7,000 to 8,000 square feet, while large format stores measure about 30,000 to 35,000 square feet.

Sushilkaumar Shinde spelt out the reasons for secrecy over Kasab's hanging. He said the government didn't want any untoward incident and hence it was carried out in a secret manner.

 

It is noteworthy that a major attack was planned in response to the killing of Qateel Siddiqui, who was accused of aiding 26/11. A series of blasts was scheduled to be carried out on August 1, but as the mechanism failed and bombs could not explode. As a result major disaster was averted. The authorities, therefore decided not to take any chances with Kasab's hanging.

Kasab's dengue was, after all, a clever ruse used by the authorities, who checked if Kasab was medically fit for hanging.
It is now being revealed that Kasab was checked in the guise of dengue and was declared fit. It's mandatory in India to check the convict before he is hanged.

There is no word yet on where Kasab will be buried. Mumbai police had buried the other nine terrorists in 26/11 attacks at a place in a similar secret operation. Pakistan, where the terrorists were trained, has steadfastly refused any role in the attack and therefore their bodies were refused.

Kasab's mercy petition was rejected by the President Pranab Mukherjee on November 8.

 

Our agencies had killed 9 terrorists on the very day of the attack. Our brave officers managed to capture Kasab alive. He was tried before the special court, and all judicial processes were duly followed. We have shown the world how India follows all laws and conventions, Patil said.

In absence  of  a hangman to execute the death sentence of Kasab, the terrorist was hanged by the officials from the Yerawada Central Jail.

The highly  placed sources in the jail  said, “The hangman of  Yerawada jail  had  retired and the position is  vacant for the last  some years. However, there is  no law that only hangman can execute a death sentence. Therefore the decision that Kasab’s  death sentence will be  executed by a jail officer was  taken and Kasab was  hanged around 7.30 am.”

State Home Minister R R Patil declared officially that Pak national Ajmal Amir Kasab, convicted in the 26/11 terror attacks, has been hanged to death at Yerawada jail in Pune at 7.30 am this morning.

 

It has been proved now by our agencies that if anyone attacked India, not only are they responded by

 our security agencies, but also our judiciary system, Home Minister R R Patil said while speaking at a press conference in Mumbai.

I believe this is the true shraddhanjali to the victims and officers who died in this attack on India, Patil said.

Barely a week before the fourth anniversary of Mumbai terror attack, a convict in the attack and Pak national Ajmal Amir Kasab was hanged to death at Yerawada jail in Pune at 7.30 am this morning. Kasab's death sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court earlier this year. Kasab had sought presidential pardon, but it was rejected earlier this month.

In a swift and absolutely close-guarded manner, state authorities moved Kasab to Yerawada jail from his high-security prison at Arthur Road in Mumbai. It is estimated he was brought to Pune about 30 hours ago, even as the state was mourning death of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray.

State Home Minister R R Patil is expected to hold a press conference in a short while  to confirm Kasab's hanging. Speaking to television channels, Patil confirmed the hanging, but refused to divulge any more details.

0 कराचीमार्गे एका स्पीड बोटीने कुलाबा येथे हे ११ दहशतवादी दाखल झाले . एके ४७ , हॅण्डग्रेनेड अशा घातक शस्त्रांनी ते सज्ज होते . बराच काळ लढण्याची तयारी ठेवण्यासाठी त्यांनी सोबत सुकामेवाही आणला होता . छत्रपती शिवाजी टर्मिनस , ताज पॅलेस , ओबेरॉय ट्रायडण्ट , कॅफे लिओपोल्ड , कामा हॉस्पिटल , छाबड हाऊस या भागांना दहशतवाद्यांनी टार्गेट केले होते . हल्ल्याचे स्वरुप इतके भीषण होते की एनएसजीच्या कमांडोंना ऑपरेशन ब्लॅक टोर्नेडो ही मोहीम हाती घ्यावी लागली .
0 छत्रपती शिवाजी टर्मिनसवर रात्री सव्वा नऊच्या सुमारास दोन दहशतवादी घुसले . कसाबही त्यात होता . एके ४७ रायफलने त्यांनी अंदाधुंद गोळीबार सुरु केला . पावणे अकरा पर्यंत दहशतवाद्यांचे हत्यासत्र सुरु होते . या गोळीबारात ५८ जण ठार झाले तर १०४ जखमी झाले . हे दहशतवादी सीएसटी स्थानकावरुन कामा हॉस्पिटलच्या दिशेने जात असल्याची माहिती मिळाल्यानंतर एटीएसचे तत्कालिन प्रमुख हेमंत करकरे , विजय साळस्कर , अशोक कामटे हे अधिकारी त्या दिशेने धावले . कामा हॉस्पिटलच्या परीसरात कसाब आणि खान या दोघांशी झालेल्या चकमकीत हे तिघेही अधिकारी शहीद झाले . खानचा खात्मा झाला . आधी पोलिसांच्या जीपने आणि नंतर एका कारने पळ काढण्याचा प्रयत्न करणाऱ्या कसाबला सह सब इन्सपेक्टर तुकाराम ओळंबे यांनी जिवंत धरले . या प्रयत्नात जखमी झालेल्या ओळंबे यांना वीरमरण आले .
0 कुलाबा येथील लिओपोल्ड कॅफे येथे झालेल्या हल्ल्यात काही परदेशी नागरीकांसह दहा जण ठार झाले . ताज पॅलेस येथे झालेला हल्ला सर्वात भीषण होता . ताजमध्ये सहा बॉम्बस्फोट झाले . फायर ब्रिगेडच्या जवानांनी जीवाची बाजी लावून हॉटेलमधून २०० जणांची सुटका केली . ताज आणि ओबेरॉय ट्रायडण्टला एनएसजी कमांडो , मरीन कमांडो ( मार्कोस ) आणि रॅपिड अॅक्शन फोर्सने वेढा घातला होता . एनएसजीचा तरुण कमांडो मेजर संदीप उन्नीकृष्णन या हल्ल्यात शहीद झाला . छाबड हाऊसमध्ये झालेल्या चकमकीत एनएसजी कमांडो हवालदार गजेंद्रसिह शहीद झाले . दोन दहशतवादी ठार झाले . दोन ज्यु धर्मगुरुंसह सहाजण ठार झाले .
0 आयएसआयच्या देखरेखीखाली लष्कर ए तय्यबा या दहशतवादी संघटनेने हा हल्ला घडवून आणला . तय्यबाचा सदस्य असलेल्या डेव्हीड हेडली याने मुंबईतल्या टार्गेट्सची रेकी केली . आयएसआयचा मेजर इक्बालने हेडलीला या कामासाठी रसद पुरवली होती .
