Churchgate-Dahanu train services unlikely to start
Western Railways have informed the Bombay high court that train services for commuters travelling from Churchgate to Dahanu will not start because the railways are falling short of resources
Hopes of getting direct transport services from Churchgate to Dahanu have been ruined. Western Railway (WR) authorities have informed Bombay high court about its inability to start services because it does not have the resources to do so. The high court asked WR last month whether they are waiting for anyone to inaugurate the services, that was to be started in 2007.
The inconvenience caused to commuters from Dahanu, due to the low frequency of trains has been a major issue in the western line. Apart from the Dahanu commuters, residents of Mira Road and Bhayandar have often complained to authorities about the inconvenience in getting into crowded trains.
After the HC’s question to WR last month, commuters hoped that services would start soon. Most of them feel current transport services are a waste of time and money. Even, after WR’sreply to Bombay high court, commuters are demanding services at the earliest. A few commuters share their thoughts on the issue.
It is hectic for us to commute daily from Boisar to Borivali. I spend a lot of time travelling in local trains. Whatever the reasons there may be, the Western Railways should start the service as soon as possible

Though train services are really the need of the hour, I feel the Western Railways should start services after installing the required infrastructure. Or else it would put many lives at risk
–Ravi Vishwakarma
If Western railways increases the frequency of trains between Dahanu and Virar, it would help solve many of the issues faced by commuters today. It would work out nicely for commuters and the government
as well
–Viplesh Gharat
Instead of citing reasons, WR should immediately start the services. There are many people who travel to city daily to earn their bread and butter. If the services are started, many would be able to save time and use it for other work
