Three friends decide to take off to Spain on a 'bachelor' road trip as part of a pact they'd made in college. The trip comes at a time when Arjun's (Hrithik) neck-deep into the financial market, Imran's (Farhan) bored with his life and Kabir's (Abhay) about to get married. The three college mates get together and take off on this trip that they always wished for. On the way, everybody is to set up one dare that will catch the other two off-guard, but the dares will liberate them.
The film's subject is hackneyed and the plot is too predictable, but somehow that oft-traded path seems like a pleasant ride in some lovely presence of Katrina (who plays a diving instructor, Laila,) and some good performance by Kalki, even though she seems to stand out among the good-looking group.
The film is like biryani — it's something that you have eaten often, but you don't mind it being served to you every now and then. The plot moves deftly and another good part of the film is that the characters are well charted out. Like a cherry topping, Hrithik and Abhay are both powerful actors who have done powerful roles before. Naturally, they will rock on screen. After seeing the film, one tends to congratulate Zoya for some superb casting because the film would have fallen flat had someone else been cast. About Farhan, he is perhaps the only guy who seems replaceable. His role seems to be better than his acting. If any other powerful actor would've done Farhan's role, he would have managed to eclipse the other two. Farhan couldn't.
Here are the pitfalls: The film tends to slacken after the interval and seems like a drag. These are points when you tend to concentrate on the pop-corn and the text messages on your phone rather than on the screen. A large portion of the second half appears so predictable that you can exactly say when things will happen and how. But anyways, it's worth your money in the weekend.
And yes, do not miss the steamy kiss between Hrithik and Katrina. Hrithik was obviously tempted to use a lot of tongue when he was kissing her and Katrina didn't seem comfortable. But it's the only 'sexlighted' moment in the film, so watch out for it!
