Infra Visionary
DP Mhaiskar
Chairman, MEP Infrastructure
As
founder and chief mentor of Ideal Road Builders (IRB), DP Mhaiskar was
one of the first to be awarded a toll-collection contract. In 1995, when
the government privatised the road sector, IRB entered a brand new
arena of build-operate-transfer (BOT) projects with the Thane-Bhiwandi
Bypass Phase I which was completed ahead of time. With his son Jayant,
Mhaiskar has built and maintained many prestigious BOT projects in and
around Mumbai. Chairing MEP Infrastructure Developers Pvt Ltd, which
operates across 10 states in India and contributes to almost 33% of
NHAI's pan-India revenue, Mhaiskar could well be called a true visionary
in Indian infrastructure.
