About the Author
D. Banerjea, Ph.D. D.Sc., FWAST, FNASc, C.Chem., FRSC (London), formerly Sir Rashbehary Ghose Professor of Chemistry, Calcutta University, is an acknowledged authority on Coordination Chemistry, Calcutta University, is an acknowledged authority on Coordination Chemistry, who initiated and pursued research in India on Dynamics of reactions of Metal Complexes and guided research of some 40 students at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Culcutta and at Calcutta University. He has published over 130 original research papers in reputed national and international journals and over 100 articles and reviews on scientific, educational and environmental issues. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (England) and the National Academy of Sciences India, a foundation Fellow of the West Bengal Academy of Science and Technology and has been a member of the International Planning Committee of the International Conferences on Coordination Chemistry since 1972. He has travelled widely and delivered invited lectures at several International Conferences, Institutes and Universities in India and abroad. He was the convener of the 20th International Conference on Coordination Chemistry, hosted in India in the year 1979. He held office (1988-89) as President of the Indian Chemical Society. He was a teacher of repute and has published five advanced level books on Inorganic Chemistry and Coordination Chemistry and edited “Coordination Chemistry-20” published (1980) by the IUPAC, Pergamon Press, Oxford, U.K.
