Abducted kid rescued in 24 hrs

Kandivli police have rescued a five-year-old boy barely a few hours after he was reported missing.
Ajay Prajapati, the victim, is a class I student. The victim’s father approached them early Saturday morning claiming his son had been kidnapped by his neighbour. The police managed to trace the neighbour with the help of his call records.
Around 9pm on Friday Ajay’s father, Ramsagar received a call informing him that his son had been kidnapped and would be released only if he came up with Rs5 lakh in two days. Ramsagar thought it was a prank call. It was only after Ajay failed to returned home that Ramsagar realised his mistake and approached the police at 1am.
“The caller had asked me to deposit the said amount at the office of a politician instead of collecting it himself. Ajay had gone to play garba but did not return till late,” Ramsagar said. Police started their investigations by checking the phone call records of the number from which the ransom call was made.
They found out that the SIM belonged to one Bind who had given his SIM card to Saeed Ali Chaudhary (22), a structural repair contractor. It turned out that Chaudhary was the Ramsagar’s neighbour. “We called in Chaudhary for questioning. He confessed that he had kidnapped Ajay while he was returning home after playing garba and had kept him at his girlfriend, Nafeesa Shaikh’s residence in Borivli,” said Sunil Paraskar, additional commissioner of police (north region).
Though Chaudhary told the police that Nafeesa was not aware of the kidnapping plan, the latter has confessed to playing a part in the abduction plot.
