The rivalry between actors Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan is well-known in and outside Bollywood. There's no love lost between the two stars who haven't shied from taking on each other head on at the BO in the past. They are slated to clash yet again, this Diwali with Ajay's Son of Sardar and SRK's Jab Tak Hai Jaan releasing on the same day. So, it was quite shocking to see Ajay on the sets of SRK's film Chennai Express recently. According to an onlooker, director Rohit Shetty — who has made several blockbusters with Ajay including the recent Rs100 crore movie Bol Bachchan — was shooting for his film with SRK in Yash Chopra's suburban studio, while Ajay was attending a music event held on the adjacent floor. When Rohit's crew realised that Ajay was right next door, everyone went to meet Ajay. Despite the security at the event, they managed to meet him and got him to visit them on the sets of Rohit's film. "You could see the affection the 100 odd crew members had for Ajay as they literally dragged him from the music event to their sets to spend time with him. They all told him about how they were missing their 'boss' (as Ajay is fondly nicknamed) and some got so emotional about meeting Ajay that they just ignored all the security threats that the event organisers were issuing," says a source present at the event. When contacted, another source confirmed that the crew has been working with Rohit and Ajay for over seven years. "Right from spot-boys to the top most technicians, Rohit works with the same team and we were missing seeing 'boss' after Bol Bachchan. So, when we saw his car come in, we tried our best to meet him. He's always treated us like family, and for us shooting has always meant working with him, so despite the fact that it was Shah Rukh's film, Ajay agreed to come in for a few minutes and we all were thrilled," says the insider. But apparently there was no face-off moment between Ajay and Shah Rukh, because SRK was away in the make-up room when Ajay came by. "They were in between shots, so the two didn't come face to face at all," says another source. Incidentally, the two missed bumping into each other at the event later on.
