Quick Overview
The Atlas of Laparoscopic and Robotic Urologic Oncological Surgery is a unique surgical atlas. It is solely dedicated to the principles and art of minimally invasive surgery as applied to urologic oncology. This atlas provides a compilation of chapters, each written by worldrenowned experts in the field of minimally invasive urologic surgery. As such it is a compilation of valuable experience gained by each author in this rapidly evolving and exciting field within urology. Each chapter contains detailed procedural steps augmented by patient preparation and valuable insights into necessary instrumentation and equipment for each procedure. The chapters include numerous and detailed intraoperative photographs depicting critical procedural steps. All major oncologic procedures are covered. Pure laparoscopic techniques are depicted in chapters separate from their robotic counterpart. The aim of this atlas is to provide the targeted readership with the necessary information to embark on expanding their surgical armamentarium and alleviate the often difficult and steep learning curve. As such, it is a valuable adjunct for surgeons embarking on laparoscopic and robotic urologic oncological surgery. It can also be equally valuable for experienced laparoscopic surgeons who want to embrace robotic surgery. But most of all, this atlas will provide the surgeon in training, namely residents in urology and fellows in laparoscopic and robotic urologic surgery a quick and easytouse reference for minimally invasive urologic oncological surgery.
Key Features
Divided into three sections: aesthesia and Setup, Upper Tract Surgery and Lower Tract Surgery.

All common urologic oncological procedures are described in their pure laparoscopic and robotic form in separate chapters.

The text begins with describing anaesthesia setup and instruments needed for laparoscopic and robotic surgery followed by robotic assisted and laparoscopic nephrectomy surgeries of upper tracts ending with prostatectomy procedures related to lower tract.

Some important topic covered includes Laparoscopic and Robotic Instrumentation, HandAssisted Laparoscopic Radical Nephrectomy, Laparoscopic and RobotAssisted Adrenalectomy, Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy, Laparoscopic Nephroureterectomy.

Provide the expert in urologic laparoscopic surgery, the necessary tools to adopt the robotic approach and also compare and contrast the procedures side by side in a single volume.

Includes more than 500 detailed coloured intraoperative photographs depicting critical sequential procedural steps.

Quick Overview
Transverse vaginal septums may present at different levels depending on the developmental aberration. When the obstruction is complete and the patient starts menstruating the patient develops a haematocolpos and the subsequent management is simple. In patients presenting with concurrent primary amenorrhoea it becomes difficult to plan surgery because operating vaginally, the upper limit of the septum remains dubious and also there is inherent danger of injury to the bowel and bladder. In these cases a combined abdominovaginal approach is preferred to adequately restore a functioning vaginal lumen and at the same time avoiding injury to the other vital organs. Two such cases are discussed in this volume.
The book is enhanced by full colour illustrations and photographic reproductions. Special attention has been paid to the illustrations and photographs to make them more accessible and informative. The technical description is superb and to the point. The author has set out to simplify surgery by creating a stepbystep procedural process, illustrated to emphasise those surgical steps, which are critical to the individual procedure under consideration.

Quick Overview
There should be no place for a Complete Perineal Tear, which can be considered as an unwelcome outcome, in modern obstetrical practice. Horrifying though it may appear, domiciliary midwifery is still rampant in the subcontinent and the resulting complications are encountered in plenty. Even more distressing is the observation that these cases with complete perineal tears are forced to live with this perpetual incontinence for many decades for want of proper medical attention before they finally reach a tertiary centre where perineal plastic repair facilities are available. The author has set out to simplify surgical repair of complete perineal tears by creating a stepbystep procedural process, illustrated to emphasise those surgical steps, which are critical to this procedure. The author has also provided important notes in an effort to aid the surgeon in reducing blood loss.

Quick Overview
The vulva presents complex clinical pathologies as it is composed of the hairbearing skin and the inner lined mucosa. The skin and mucosa bearing the complex glandular tissues also contribute to the vulval pathology. New growths over the vulval and perineal skin are objectionable for disturbing the aesthetic appearance of the external genitalia and also producing coital problems. Varied surgical techniques of the benign pathologies of the vulva are presented in this section. The author has set out to simplify surgery by creating a stepbystep procedural process, illustrated to emphasise those surgical steps, which are critical to the individual procedure under consideration.
