Prithvi-II successfully test-fired


New Delhi: India’s 350-km-range Prithvi-II ballistic missile was successfully test fired by the tri-service Strategic Forces Command from the integrated test range Chandipur at the coast of Odisha on Saturday. Prithvi is the first ballistic missile developed under the country’s prestigious Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme and has the capability to carry 500 kg of both nuclear and conventional warheads with a strike range of 350 km. Prithvi has three variants — for the Army, the Air Force and the Navy. Prithvi-II is the Air Force version. All the three variants have been inducted into the Services.
