12 politicians who made Maharashtra proud

As Maharashtra celebrates its 52nd year of existence, Zee Research Group (ZRG), brings to notice the relentless efforts of Maharshtrians who have made a difference to the society. These people have contributed in etching the portrait of the state as it seen today. It is to these famous persons that Maharashtra owes it image. Here are thirteen political personalities who have made their state proud. 
Sharad Pawar
He is the president of NCP. He was the ex chairman of BCCI in India and he currently holds the position of ICC president.


Manohar Joshi
He was the former chief minister of Maharashtra and was also the former Lok Sabha speaker.



Bal Keshav Thackeray
He is an Indian politician, founder and chief of the political party Shiv Sena.



Pramod Mahajan
He was a prominent politician of BJP. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha and a General Secretary of his party


Shivraj Patil
He is an Indian politician and current state Punjab governor and the Administrator of Union Territory of Chandigarh.



Prithviraj Chavan
He is the current chief minister of Maharashtra. He was a Member of the Parliament of India representing Maharashtra in the Rajya Sabha.


Supriya Sule
She is an Indian politician from the Nationalist Congress Party and currently a Member of Parliament (MP) in the 15th Lok Sabha.



Vilasrao Deshmukh
He is the current Minister of Science and Technology and Minister of Earth Sciences. He was also the former chief minister of Maharashtra.



Raj Thackeray
He is the founder and president of the right-wing Marathi ethnocentric regional political party, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).



Nitin Gadkari
He is the current president of BJP and a senior politician.




Sushil Kumar Shinde
He is currently the Cabinet Minister for Power.


Narayan Rane
He is currently the Minister for Industry, Port, Employment and Self employment in the Government of Maharashtra. He was also the former chief minister of Maharashtra.


Gopal Krishna Gokhale
He was one of the founding social and political leaders during the Indian Independence Movement .Gokhale was a senior leader of the Indian National Congress and founder of the Servants of India Society.
