A glittering marriage ceremony:
Actors Sneha and Prasanna tied the knot on May 11 at a traditional
marriage ceremony attended by family members, relatives and close
friends. Both the actors looked
adorable in traditional 'pattu veshti-pattu pudavai' and they were all
smiles as they entered wedlock, in the backdrop of 'mantras, getti
melam' and 'atchadhais'.
The marriage took place at Sri Varu Venkatachalapathy Palace at Vanagaram.
The engagement and reception was attended by friends, colleagues and well-wishers of Sneha and Prasanna in the film industry.
Popular stars in their own right, Prasanna and Sneha fell in love when they worked together for 'Achamundu Achamundu'. They had played the roles of an Indian couple living in the US in the film directed by Arun Vaidyanathan. And now, they are a couple in real life too. The who's who of south Indian film industry attended the wedding ceremony, which was followed by a glitzy reception later in the day. The actor and the actress have invited all their friends, well-wishers and colleagues to be part of their big day. The invitations have been personally given to Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and DMK President M Karunanidhi, the two top political leaders of the state. The guest list goes big as top stars from Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada industries have been invited. Within a few days after the marriage, the couple is expected to fly to a few foreign locations for their honeymoon. Sneha says, "Prasanna's mother has been showering loads of affection on me. After marriage, I would like to lead a simple life, like that of any ordinary woman. I would try my best to be a perfect wife." The actress says she is yet to decide on whether to continue acting in films or not after wedding. "I will consult with Prasanna before taking the decision," she says. 'Achchamundu Achchamundu' was shot in New Jersey and New York and the final editing and mixing work were done at Los Angeles. "I would address Sneha with a lot of pet names. One among them is Kannamma. Because I like Bharathiyar poems and a lot. Also, there are other names for Sneha, like Pappu, Bebu and Pachchu. It depends on the mood," says Prasanna. "She too is no inferior. Sneha has named me Kanna and Dada. I have saved her number as Pachchu in my mobile and she has saved my mobile number as Dada in her cell phone." said the actor. "Before starting the shoot of 'Achamundu Achamundu', director Arun Vaidyanathan wanted to break the ice between Prasanna and Sneha, as he expected a great chemistry from them since the film had them as husband and wife. So he ensured that both actors spent time together on the streets of the United States, where the movie was shot." "Like any lover couple in these parts, Prasanna and Sneha too had their own set of problems. However, these hiccups only made their relationship stronger," sources say. The star couple has announced that they will donate organs. "It is heartening that we could light so many lives with this initiative," they said. Sneha's most awaited Tamil release 'Kochadaiyaan' has Tamil superstar Rajnikanth in lead role. Prasanna debuted in Tamil movie with Mani Ratnam's 'Five Star' in the year 2002. Sneha entered the Tamil film industry with 'Ennavale' in year 2001. Both, Sneha and Prasanna looked happy and we wish them a good luck and a Happy Married life.
