Or why not buy one your home? Various stores in Thane are selling right from ordinary aroma candles to floating candles of various shapes and sizes. Sheetal Sharma, a Thane resident, has apart from diyas also shopped for aroma candles. “Diwali is a festival of lights and I want to decorate my home with beautiful candles and diyas. I came across these aroma candles when I went shopping and immediately picked them up. I have purchased several candles of different fragrances,” Sharma said. Aroma candles, which are available at Satyam Collection, come in different varieties such as lavender to lemon grass, orange blossom and sandal. Chandresh Vikmani, in-charge of the store, says, “We have a wide range of aroma candles that are in great demand this Diwali. They are available in different shapes and sizes, and not just light up your home, but also ensure a soothing ambiance.” “The price of the candles starts from Rs40 and it [candle] lasts for more than four hours. You could also gift it to your closed ones,” adds Chandresh. Priya Raje who has been selling aroma candles for the last few years says the demand has doubled this season. “Floral-designed aroma candles are also available. The price starts from Rs50 and is available in fragrances such as pineapple, peach and orange,” says Raje. “The demand during this festive season has gone up. On a regular day we sell around 25 aroma candles, but this festive season we have sold around 50 to 100 candles in a day.”
